I’m Madeleine (Maddie) Zimmerman, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting individuals, families, and communities through healing, growth, grief, transition, and change. My work is rooted in the belief that everyone has the capacity to reclaim their life, even in the midst of adversity—and that healing becomes possible when we feel understood, supported, and empowered.

Over the past eight years, I’ve worked with children, teens, adults, and families across a wide range of settings, including in-home services, public schools, shelters, public libraries, treatment centers, and outpatient programs. These experiences have shaped my holistic, trauma-informed, and equity-driven approach to therapy, and have strengthened my commitment to meeting people exactly where they are.

I was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, and later earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California, where I specialized in Social Change and Innovation along with Non-Profit Management. My passion for social justice and community advocacy began during my undergraduate years at Saint Louis University, where I studied Criminology, Criminal Justice, and Global & Local Social Justice.

I was deeply influenced by my mentor, Dr. Norm White (Rest in Power), a criminologist dedicated to dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline. Inspired by his work, I was one of a few students who helped establish Overground Railroad to Literacy, an organization committed to addressing educational inequities and creating spaces for dialogue, empowerment, and change.

Today, my clinical work blends trauma-informed care, harm reduction, somatic awareness, and relational healing. Whether I’m supporting someone through anxiety, trauma, substance use, or major life transitions, I show up with warmth, curiosity, cultural humility, and a wholehearted belief in your ability to move toward a life that feels more grounded, connected, and aligned.

I’m so glad you’re here.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over ten years of experience, I’m passionate about providing compassionate, culturally attuned care.

Previously, I served as a program and clinical manager in Los Angeles County, providing direct clinical support within homeless services and shelter programs. In this work, I partnered closely with families navigating complex emotional needs while coordinating community resources that promote dignity, autonomy, and stable pathways forward.

Throughout my career, I’ve collaborated with a variety of organizations—offering clinical services, grant writing, program development, and staff training. I’ve supported adolescents, adults, and families facing challenges such as substance use, ADHD, anxiety, depression, homelessness, trauma, and LGBTQIA+ concerns. I’ve also worked with high-achieving professionals, including executives, attorneys, medical professionals, educators, first responders, and nonprofit leaders.

Across every setting, my foundation in social justice and trauma-informed practice has shaped my commitment to providing care that is nonjudgmental, individualized, and empowering. My goal is to help you build a relationship with yourself that feels more grounded, compassionate, and resilient.

I’m here to walk with you on your journey toward emotional well-being—whether you’re navigating guilt, anxiety, substance use, grief, trauma, or simply seeking more balance and clarity in your life.
